Privacy policy

The short version

You don't need an account to use Sidelyne. We don't show ads, we don't use analytics or tracking tools, and we don't sell your data.

Your location

The app only uses your location if you allow it and choose Near me. We use it to show events around you and how far away they are.

To find those events, your phone sends coordinates to our server. We use them to answer that request and don't save them to a profile. They can appear for a short time in our server logs.

Searches

What you type in search is sent to our server to find matching events. When our AI search is switched on, your search text is also sent to Anthropic, which works out the sport, day and distance you mean.

Your calendar

If you add an event to your calendar, the app asks for permission and only adds that event. It doesn't read your calendar, and nothing from it is sent to us.

What stays on your phone

The app remembers your chosen city and whether you turned on Near me. This stays on your device and is deleted when you remove the app.

Services we rely on

Like any app or website, these services receive your IP address and basic technical details when you use Sidelyne:

Cloudflare hosts our website and server, and keeps request logs for a short time. Expo delivers app updates. Apple Maps on iPhone, Google Maps on Android and OpenFreeMap on our website show the map.

If you open an event's link or ask for directions, you go to that website or maps app, and its own privacy policy applies.

If you email us

We use your email address and message to reply, and keep them only as long as we need to.

Your rights

You can ask us what data we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. Email hello@sidelyne.app. You can also complain to your data protection authority, such as the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens in the Netherlands.

You can withdraw location or calendar permission at any time in your phone's settings.

Children

Sidelyne lists youth sports events, but the app isn't aimed at children and doesn't ask anyone for personal details.

If this policy changes, we'll update it on this page.
